With a staff
of highly skilled
researchers and analysts,
Concord has produced
successful business
plans for industries
as varied as biotech,
entertainment, real
estate and telecommunications.
To quote one satisfied
client, "you've
captured the essence
of our business model."
Drawing on this vast
pool of expertise,
both academic and
technical, Concord
has prepared over
225 plans that include
all aspects of the
business or product.
Market research, competitive
analysis, growth strategy,
financial needs; these
varied components
are carefully meshed,
providing a comprehensive
picture to prospective
investors. "Some
investors can get
over 100 business
plans a year,"
Wanda advises, "but
with our packaging
and easy to absorb
format ours get priority."
With a venture capital
division to raise
funds for clients,
and tech personnel
to build web sites,
Concord creates a
complete package that
is compelling and
effective. As Wanda
points out, "it
has to be both attractive
and academic at the
same time. We have
to strike an interesting
balance."
An important
factor in Concord's
success story is the
trust that clients
place in the discretion
and confidentiality
of Wanda and her staff.
She was recently invited
to a UBC lab where
two PHDs described
a new hydrogen fuel
cell process in detail,
aware that the information
was secure in her
hands. "It's
a privilege to be
shown the whole process
and realize that trust
will never be broken.
We've never had a
leak."
Working with
people to help them
build and define their
dreams is the essence
of Concord's mission.
On the cutting edge
of the marketplace,
their knowledge and
expertise allow them
to see where the market
is going and pre-empt
the trends. Wanda
points out that "as
the hi-tech bubble
burst, people were
going back to more
traditional business
models - oil and gas,
mining and biomed."
She adds, however,
that she believes
in the hi-tech sector.
"As more people
turn to new forms
of wireless communication
it will continue to
grow. We're seeing
a lot of new hi-tech
models coming in the
door."
Proud single
mother of a 16 year-old
son, Alexander, whom
she describes as "a
wonderful young man,"
Wanda is a third generation
Vancouverite committed
to her community as
well as her business.
Despite her hectic
schedule, she finds
the time to volunteer
as a fundraiser for
the Vancouver Opera.
An avid opera fan,
and collector of antiques,
she takes pride in
her 20s era Vancouver
home, having received
a Silver Georgie Award
for its extensive
restoration. With
her time at a premium,
Wanda cherishes the
important things in
life - home, family,
and good friends.
A background in manufacturing,
import, and joint
ventures in Eastern
Europe gave Wanda
Halpert the necessary
skills to develop
her own vision. Aggressive,
dynamic, and forward
thinking, she and
Concord Business Development
are helping clients
across North America
and around the world
make their visions
a reality.
